KIBO X Lion Rock Press (Pre-order)

Your grandma’s stairwell. The lion at every shop opening. The bag your family moved house with. We teamed up with The Lion Rock Press to turn the Hong Kong you grew up with into three sneakers, upcycled from waste and finished with iconic lace beads.

If you grew up in Hong Kong, you’ve walked on this pattern a thousand times: up tenement stairwells, across the cha chaan teng floor, through your grandma’s kitchen. The Lion Rock Press turned those green-and-cream mosaic tiles into a patch for the side of a KIBO sneaker.

Each pair is finished with jade beads and gold accent rings threaded onto the lace ends. They’re a little old-Hong-Kong luck that clicks when you walk.

醒獅 means “awakened lion,” and this one clearly stayed out past midnight. The Lion Rock Press took the lion dance head, the city’s loudest good-luck charm, and redrew it in Nathan Road neon.

The red-white-blue bag has carried everything in Hong Kong: moves, migrations, market hauls, and possibly your uncle’s entire wardrobe. With The Lion Rock Press, we turned the city’s toughest stripe into a sneaker patch.
